Nice quiet room with views very close to Thorn village. Easy parking right outside the apartments.
Didn’t try the breakfast. The location was great. On a lake with views from the apartment, a short easy walk from Thorn, over the lift bridge and lake into town. The staff were all very pleasant especially the two girls cleaning rooms in B3 apartments. Also the night porter (s), and the air-conditioner man. It was clean, quite spacious, with an especially large bathroom. Nice large windows that opened and a good block curtain for sleeping. Quiet. We did eat in Humphries restaurant and found staff friendly, the food very good, but the prices too high.
There is absolutely nothing in the way of printed instruction in the rooms. One must scan a bar code handed to you at the reception, to discover that one must access more info, eg appliance manuals from the TV. Our TV was not working because it was not plugged in and it was rather difficult to find the plug which was wound tightly and out of sight behind the wall mounted TV. The air-conditioner was problematic. Not working at all when we arrived, we called the reception who sent a man, who said that it was basically set for summer, but this weather was, today, unseasonably cool so he had to adjust settings in his control room. It then seemed to work sporadically, as though it was set to a timer, but we were assured it wasn’t. Likewise the radiator/towel rack in the bathroom. It was unplugged and set to a child lock when we arrived we needed help to get it going, as the control (almost at floor level) was VERY hard to reach and read, let see the very pale text.
